It’s already been an exciting start to the term here
in the Toucans classroom. We’ve been sketching our favourite Roald Dahl characters,
going on Golden Ticket treasure hunts and launching mini marshmallows using our
own hand crafted, 17th century style catapults. In English we’ve
been tackling prefixes, suffixes and synonyms. In Maths, we’ve begun our work
on place value and became expert code breakers. We’ve also had a massive push
on reading in Year 4 so please keep encouraging the children to read so we can
talk about our favourite books in class. Children are able to ask for a book
review sheet to take home at any time, to review the books they are reading at
home.

Creative Critters...
First week back and the Toucans have been showing off their artistic side. This week we have spent time sketching, collecting materials and creating our own leaf animals. The children created some amazing pieces of art and then self-evaluated their pieces to think of how they could make their next project EVEN better!
Here are some of the pictures of the children creating their pieces.
Feel free to come in and see them on display Friday 16th September (Open Morning).
